This is a sound buy if Christmas music is on your hit list this year. It has the usual classics including Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas" and Elton John's "Step Into Christmas", but doesn't fail to deliver on comtemporary tunes either. East 17 feature, as do Ladysmith Black Mambazo. There are a couple of cover versions, Vanessa Williams performing a beautiful version of "Have Yourself A Merry Litle Christmas" and Whigfield's attempt at "Last Christmas" (this being the major pitfall of the compilation). In a nutshell, this album does exactly what it should. It has all the hits of your typical Christmas party album, and throws in a mixture of upbeat tunes with some great old croons. Virtually every artist's name you will recognise and I can guarantee the album will have you dancing in your kitchen one minute and reminising of Christmas' gone by the next.
